Jade City is located 71 miles/114 km north of Dease Lake on the Cassiar Highway and 75 miles south of the Alaska Highway junction.
Jade City is not so much a city as a highway stop for jade shoppers. Cassiar Mountain Jade Store, on the west side of the highway, created and built Jade City in 1985. Jade City was named for the jade deposits found to the east. Jade miners in the Cassiar Mountain Range produce about 1 million pounds of jade each year, half of which is exported.
Lodging in a 5-room hotel and free overnight RV parking (no services) available at Cassiar Mountain Jade Store. No gas or food.
