Beaver Creek is located at Historic Milepost 1202 on the Alaska Highway, 20 miles southeast of the Canada–U.S. border, 113 miles from Tok, 317 miles from Fairbanks and 184 miles from Haines Junction.

Visitor Information: The Yukon Government Visitor Centre is in the log building right on the highway and is open daily, late May through September. Phone 867-862-7321.


Alaska Highway construction crews working from opposite directions connected the highway at Beaver Creek in October 1942, thus making it possible for the first time for vehicles to travel the entire length of the highway.

Open year-round, 24/7, the Canadian Customs station is located about 2 miles north of town and the U.S. Customs station (and U.S./Canada border) is about 20 miles north of town. Travelers stop only at the station for the country they are entering, not leaving.
