Jade City is located 71 miles/114 km north of Dease Lake on the Cassiar Highway.
Jade City is not so much a city as a highway stop for jade shoppers. Cassiar Mountain Jade Store, on the west side of the highway, created and built Jade City in 1985. Jade City was named for the jade deposits found to the east. Jade mines in the Cassiar Mountain Range west of Jade City account for about 75 percent of the world’s jade supply.
