Deadhorse is located on Prudhoe Bay at the end of the Dalton Highway, 499 miles north of Fairbanks.
|Tourist accommodations are available at Deadhorse Camp. Prudhoe Bay Hotel, Aurora Hotel & Suites, Arctic Oilfield Hotel and Black Gold Deadhorse Lodge cater primarily to oil field workers, although if rooms are available they will rent to tourists. Dining service is available at Deadhorse Camp and also at the oilfield hotel cafeterias, which have fixed hours for meals with self-serve snacks available for purchase at other times. Brooks Range Supply building houses the Napa Store, Prudhoe Bay General Store and the post office. The "Colville Mini-Mall" carries industrial supplies and sundries. Alcohol, ammunition, weapons and many grocery items are not available in Deadhorse. There is no bank, but ATMs are available. Credit cards and traveler’s checks are generally accepted, but Fish and Game licenses and postage must be paid for in cash. RV parking with electrical hookups at Arctic Oilfield Hotel and Arctic Caribou Inn. Overnight parking at Tesoro. Fuel: Regular unleaded gasoline and ultra-low sulfur diesel is available at NANA (Chevron) or the Deadhorse/Prudhoe Bay Tesoro Station. Tire and vehicle repairs are available.|
