"My husband and I used The MILEPOST® in June on our two week trip to Alaska. What a great resource! I'm a map reader on trips anyway, and The MILEPOST® made our whole experience easier and more informative than anything we've used on trips before. Thank you for a fantastic publication. It helped make our Alaskan Adventure the trip of a lifetime!"
--Sincerely, Nina Feltmann

Motorcycling the North

Almost every make of motorcycle, in every shape and size, has made the trip to Alaska. The most common concern expressed by motorcyclists we’ve talked to along the way was the distance between gas stops which can be 100 miles or more on some highways. Many were using The MILEPOST® to figure their gas stops in advance of each day’s travel and many carry extra gas.

Gold Mining

Alaska, known for its historic gold rushes and current mining opportunities, offers the chance to pan for gold and to learn about recreational gold mining.

Crossing the Border

Travel between the United States and Canada is usually fairly straightforward, although there are various documentation requirements and a sometimes daunting number of regulations pertaining to importation of agricultural and/or wildlife products, commercial goods, alcohol, tobacco and firearms.
